Raise money for Scholarships! Join our second annual Bird-a-thon!

The Audubon Outdoor Club of Corpus Christi is hosting their second annual bird-a-thon to benefit the Dr. Howard and Beth Hoekje Conservation Scholarship. It's easy:

1. Pick a day between April 15 and May 30 to devote to birding.
2. Choose the registration category that best fits  your schedule.
3. Find sponsors who will pledge an amount for each bird species you report. Remind them that they will be entered into a drawing for some fabulous prizes!
4. Register by April 15 at https://tinyurl.com/aoc-birdathon-2025.

On the scheduled day, tally up every different species you can find within the geographical boundaries, and submit your list.

No matter where your team ranks, you'll know that you have contributed to the future of conservation through our scholarship fund.

Now get going! Those birds won't count themselves!

Congratulations to AOC’s Dr. Howard & Beth Hoekje Conservation Scholarship recipients!

We have reviewed applications for our 2024 Conservation Scholarships and have determined recipients!

Congratulations to Daphne White and Leala Punjabi of Texas A&M University Corpus Christi and Chloe Nouzille and Shayla Haiflich of Texas A&M University Kingsville! Check out their projects on our Scholars page.

Special thanks to our hardworking Bird-a-thon teams and their sponsors for helping us raise over $3,000 for our scholarship program!

Congratulations to Dr. Larry McKinney for winning the beautiful Crane painting!

Thank you to those who purchased raffle tickets for this beautiful Common Crane painting!

The artist is Nancee Byington (1940-2021), originally from Missouri, who came with her husband to Corpus Christi after retiring.

We raised over $600 for this raffle. The winner, Dr. Larry McKinney was randomly drawn during the Celebration of Flight festival in Calallen on Sep 29 at Hazel Bazemore County Park.

Proceeds will be dedicated to the purchase of the Allen lot next to our Packery Channel Oak Motte Sanctuary.
